GMS made history this year, 2008, by publishing a full color alumni
newsletter. It’s a very impressive eight page professionally
produced document packed full of stories and pictures chronicling
GMS’s humble beginning to current campus events.
Under the leadership of a newly formed alumni association consisting
of Sydney Hamilton (79), Joan Mills (71), John Embleton (87), and
George Mast (02), the name “Lamppost” was chosen and
the work of chasing down leads for stories began. Mast, a
professional journalist employed by the Delaware State News, gave
invaluable insight and leadership in layout and editing.
All of us in the GMS family are very proud of the first edition of
the Lamppost and are appreciative of the hard work each member of
the Alumni Association has put into its publication .We hope there
will be many more to come.
