Bake Sale to Benefit Haitians: Elizabeth Biasi, a sixth grade student at GMS, is organizing a bake sale with proceeds going to a ministry that has been working in Haiti for many years. Christian Fellowship Mission, Inc. was founded in 1966. Ronnie Yoder, one of our school board members, serves on the board of CFM and is planning to travel to Haiti sometime this spring. Learn more about CFM on their website at www.christianfellowshipmission.org.
Elizabeth needs many volunteers to help bake items for the bake sale which will be held on March 13 at Yoder’s Country Store in Greenwood. Please call the school to find out how you can help!
Mennonite Central Committee is a relief agency of all Mennonite denominations and is actively involved in work in Haiti. You may learn more about how they are serving by loggin on to www.mcc.org.
Additional Haiti Relief Opportunity: GMS students have an opportunity to assist the Global Aid Network (GAIN) in their ministry in Haiti by putting together relief kits. Anna Hand will be taking the kits which we assemble to the GAIN warehouse in mid-March.
Traffic Info: To help keep things safe in the lower parking lot during the morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups, please remember the following:
1. If you need to park, park in the end of the lot close to the road. Walk in the walkway close to the old gym rather than through the parking lot.
2. Load and unload students from the passenger side of the vehicles to keep them out of traffic.
3. Pull up within the driving lane when you can, especially in the afternoon, to help make more space for others to load and unload.
4. If you need even a short conference with at teacher, park your car and come to talk with the teacher.
5. If you are ready to leave the parking lot and are behind a vehicle that is waiting, you may pull slowly to the left and exit the lot.
